After months of waiting, the City’s proposed short-term rental regulations are finally moving forward. The next hearing has been scheduled for Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at 1:00pm before City Council’s Housing Committee.
Thanks to your support at past hearings, the ordinance now reflects many of our positions on fair regulation. However, there are still a few outstanding issues in the ordinance that would hurt our neighborhoods and housing if not addressed:
- 180-day cap is too many days to allow home sharing in our neighborhoods. Imagine living next door to a short-term rental for half the year!
- 15 days of non-primary residence vacation rentals will make enforcement impossible.
Airbnb hires organizers to make sure hundreds of hosts show up to these hearings. We need your support and your presence at this hearing to take back our neighborhoods!
Your presence is your vote!
